TLC Workroom - TLC's new digital delivery space

TLC has developed a new digital delivery system; it is called 'The Workroom'. It is for TLC students who have chosen to do their programme via 'digital delivery'.

The Workroom allows you to share your work with other TLC students and be part of the wider TLC community. You can upload your images, share links and YouTube videos, as well as post and receive comments on your own and others' work. Your Workroom is hidden from the public, but any TLC student or tutor with a Workroom will be able to view and comment on your work. You are still protected by copyright and the best news is, it is very user friendly. To get started, you will need to set up your own Workroom. To do this, all you need is a valid email address. The email address you use must be the same one that is currently in our database. Once you have your email address, you can enter it here to set up your account:

http://workroom.tlcstudents.ac.nz/setup/

When you enter your email address, you will be automatically sent a password. When you have your password, you can use this link to log in (or click the 'Log In' button):

Digital delivery students and non-digital students
Our students have different ways of studying and we try to cater for that. Some students prefer to send their work in via courier and some students share their work with their mentor digitally. There are different advantages to both.

Would you like to be a digital delivery student?
If you choose to be a digital delivery student you will have automatic access to the Workroom. If you would like to do your programme via digital delivery, let your mentor know and we can give you access to the Workroom. All Advanced Diploma students have access to the workroom as it is a compulsory part of your programme.

TLC Digital Delivery - Information for students

What is Digital Delivery?

  • Digital delivery means interacting with your tutor digitally
  • This is done primarily via the Workroom where you can upload images of your work. These require a log-in and while students can see each other's work, they are not accessible by the public
  • You can also email, Skype, or post in CDs or memory sticks of work
  • You'll be able to see other students' work and comment and interact with them, even if you're a long way away from the campus

Workroom hubs:

  • You'll have access to the Workroom hub for your programme level. This will have notices and information that will be of use to you
  • Your mentor's hub is a forum for group information. Your mentor will post new information on a regular basis. This might include important news, articles of interest or images of other students' work. It's important to visit the mentor hub often

Your Workroom:

  • After you enrol, you will receive an email with a link to sign into the Workroom
  • There is a lot of information available about how to use your Workroom once you log in. Your mentor should be able to help you with most questions
  • You should post your work every week. If there is anything that you want to show only your mentor, then you're welcome to email it directly to him or her
  • You are encouraged to comment and interact with the other students in the Workroom. We want this to be a community. There are guidelines for commenting in the online users guide
