Welcome to The Learning Connexion's student site.
Log-in at the log-in page.
All Distance Delivery mentors maintain a TLC blog. You should receive log-in instructions in the first couple of weeks of term.
All Diploma (Advanced) students receive their own blog on entry to the course.
If you're a Certificate, Diploma or Diploma (Honours) student and would like your own blog, ask your mentor to arrange it.
Blogging is a great way to get input and feedback quickly, not only from your mentor but also from other students.
Using a TLC blog should be treated the same as if it were an on-site classroom, so all the expectations of behaviour and interaction that happen on-site are the same for online. This means that the guidelines in the Blue Book and the class agreement are what you should follow when thinking about writing posts and comments.
If you'd like to join in, ask your mentor to add you to their blog. Once you've got a feel for blogging, you can request your own TLC blog.
You are encouraged to make comments on other students' work but do bear in mind how you approach this. Students you share a mentor with and who you may have met at an on-site class could be thought of as your classmates and you will probably interact with them more and get to know their work. If you don't know another student well then you'll probably want to say hi and introduce yourself first. Remember that some people are more sensitive about their work than others.
If you are commenting keep it positive, ask questions, offer the impressions you are getting from the work and offer ideas of other artists or techniques that might help them out. Remember the feed-forward aspect of the creative spiral.
If you do have issues with another student's or tutor's behaviour on the blog then TLC has a robust process for dealing with complaints. See the TLC complaints procedure for details.
If you're having a problem with your blog, please get in touch (be sure to describe your issue as clearly as possible):
