Welcome to The Learning Connexion's student site.
Students can borrow up to three DVDs at once, for up to three weeks.
Distance students can arrange with their mentor to send the DVD out with their folder.
Located in the Materials Shop, Taita campus (ground floor of the Taylor building, see the Taita floorplan for directions).
The student common room has a TV and DVD player available for students who don't have equipment at home. The Materials Shop has cables and instructions for this.
Please note that our Screenrights license allows us to use broadcast material for educational use only. This library is for use by TLC staff and students only.
The Learning Connexion student video library contains over fifty classes and two hundred documentaries, available on DVD for students to borrow.

The classes include a broad range of topics, from drawing to bronze-casting. Much of the material available to Distance students is included on these DVDs, so on-site students can catch up on work at home or build on classes they have taken on-site.
Note: Classes are not currently available online. Although they will eventually be searchable, students will need to talk with their mentors to arrange a viewing copy.
The documentaries are a fantastic resource for all students and cover a wide range of topics and artists. Some of the documentaries have been produced in-house and look at local artists in New Zealand. We also have a range of material looking at overseas artists, art history and creativity ideas. If you need some more inspiration, want to do some research in an area, or are looking for information on a particular artist then this is the place to start.
The AV department has a number of DVDs which aren't available to be taken home but can be watched on-site. We're up on Level 2 of the Taylor building if you want to borrow these. Please be aware this is a staff-only level, so you'll need to ask your mentor to pop in for you.
