Describing your problem

"I can't use my blog, it's not working, please fix it" doesn't give any indication of what kind of issue you're having.

A better example is "I can't use my blog. Whenever I try to log-in at http://tlcstudents.ac.nz/blogs/johannablogs, I get an error message saying my password is wrong. I have been able to sign into my blog until today."

The more detail you can give, the quicker your problem can be resolved, it really is that simple!

Common problems

I don't know my username
Your username is your first and last name, all lowercase with no spaces. Eg. If your name is Johanna Blogs, your username is johannablogs.

I don't know my password
Your password is generated automatically when you first activate your account. TLC does not have a record of your password, so if you misplace it you'll need to request a new one.

To request a new password, go to http://tlcstudents.ac.nz/blogs and click the link called 'Lost your password?'. You will receive an email with instructions about what to do next.

Where is my blog?
If you have your own blog it is always located at http://tlcstudents.ac.nz/blogs/username.

If you participate via your mentor's blog, the blog will be located at http://tlcstudents.ac.nz/blogs/mentorname.

I can't add anything to a blog
If you have your own blog, make sure you're on your blog's admin page. An easy way to check this is to see if your name is displayed in the top-left corner of the admin screen. If your name isn't displayed, try logging out, then logging back in at http://tlcstudents.ac.nz/blogs/username.

If you don't have your own blog, then it will be up to your mentor whether you can add items to the blog. Talk with your mentor to see how she/he is running their blog.
