Welcome to The Learning Connexion's student site.
Exhibition co-ordinator:
Carrie Burke on 0800 ART POWER
Your work for exhibition must be framed or otherwise appropriately presented, and must be ready to hang.
Please take care with packaging your work and ensure you clearly mark it 'For Exhibition'.
If your work remains unsold at the end of the exhibition you will be charged the courier costs to send it back to you.
Distance delivery students: If you wish to submit work for the end of Term 1 exhibition, it needs to be here at TLC by Wednesday 14th March. Please note that anything arriving after this date will not be included in the exhibition.
This date is for all submissions: individual items, murals, large works (1.5m2 or more), diptychs, triptychs, and all series works of any size or shape.
Any hanging work you send in should be be ready to hang on the wall. This means firmly attached cord and D-rings! If your work arrives without these, they may not be included in the exhibition. Please do not use twine or wire or string. There is a limit on the number of works you can submit. The number this term is THREE (3).
Diptychs, triptychs, and series works count as ONE item each, as they are one catalogue entry each. If you need help on clarifying what "diptychs","triptychs", and "series" are, talk to your mentor or call Carrie Burke on 0800 ART POWER. You need to fill out the submission form and attach one form per work. Use a staple or Sellotape or masking tape to attach the top part of the form to your work, no glue! We need to detach the bottom form for the catalogue.
If your work is glassed, please pack it very carefully (thick newspaper and bubble wrap are best), and make sure you clearly mark your packages as 'Fragile' and 'For exhibition'. We advise that we are not responsible for work damaged in transit. Unsold works submitted through the Distance Delivery department will be sent back to you the week following the exhibition, so please make sure you have money on your account to cover this (TLC is not responsible for the cost of returning your work).
It is great to have DD work hanging in the exhibition, and it's a very non-threatening way to exhibit for the first time! The exhibition opening night for the end of Term 1, 2012 is Thursday 22nd March, 6pm. The exhibition is open Friday 23nd to Sunday 25th March, 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Exhibition submission forms are in .doc format.
