Classes begin the end of Week 1 and finish the end of Week 8 of term.
Date: August 7-8
Tutor: Robert Franken
Studio: Studio 8 T2.34
Maximum number of students: 15
Description:
As an artist it is important to sketch and explore creating resources for making paintings, pastels or graphic works. In this weekend class you will work with a model, your own dreams and find inspiration in the natural surrounds of the Taita campus producing a series of sketches which will be developed into a painting. Work with oils, acrylics or pastels. Suitable for all levels.
Content:
* Work with a model
* Draw to large scale
* Explore the bush surrounds of the TLC campus
* Have conversations about the works we are producing and consider lateral approaches to what we are doing
Objectives:
The objective is to fuse the sketches we make to produce a painting and develop techniques to achieve what we can observe and imagine.
Outcomes:
* A better understanding of how to explore an idea and perhaps an understanding of how to work in a more lateral way
* Perhaps some finished works of art. However, it is more important to learn a process rather than to focus on trophies
Required materials
Cost to student:
Dependent on what you will need to buy.
