Tutor: Christina Earl

Studio: T2.05

Description:
Are you keen on loosening up? Blur the boundaries between reality and imagination by capturing the essence of the portrait through bold and expressive techniques.
Explore the darkest depths of charcoal to embrace the shadow and bring back the light. Your warmup exercises will delve into new spaces creating a myriad of characters, some like you, family or strangers. Mythical suggestion or animal forms may expose themselves when merging light with shadow.
We set the scene with strong lighting to cast shadow on the models face, using headresses and wigs to spark the imagination. Some self portrait work on a large scale is included.
