Date: August 7-8
Tutor: Perry Scott
Studio: Mixed Media
Maximum number of students: 12
Description:
This weekend is about exploring the creative possibilities of using wire as a material with which to develop ideas and create three dimensional form. From a simple line in space to enclosed paper mache forms. Quite large, surprisingly strong forms can be engineered using wire and a tissue paper membrane to create open compositions in space. Tightly wound and compacted wire will create quite solid pieces. So come along and be a part of an enjoyable weekend of cutting, twisting, bending, and gluing creatively together. Suitable for all levels.
Content:
We will look at examples of wire work ( images ), go through a process of demonstrating methods of working with wire and cover safe working practices in the studio.
Objectives:
To introduce wire as a material and demonstrate some simple techniques with which to develop new ideas and create simple forms.

You will have expanded your sculptural vocabulary through the experience of engaging with a new material and new ways of working and creating a simple form.
