Description
This term's class is about creating a sculptural toy. Using any media you wish, let your imagination run free to create a toy or toy based sculpture whether it is for children or adults, warped or straight, dark or innocent, a play on an existing toy or a completely new invention. Make it the way you'd like to see it done! We will also explore how toys have been used or referenced by artists to create outstanding sculptures to inspire and delight as well as other toys that are just plain wicked!
Content:
* Skills development, construction techniques and using a variety of methods to create resolved sculptures
* Conceptual development
* Understanding how to express ideas effectively through sculpture.
Objectives:
* Learn and develop 3D skills
* Experiment with sculptural techniques
* Learn how to use materials creatively
* Make completed sculpture
* Develop a knowledge and understanding of a range of sculptural processes
* Develop conceptual skills
Outcomes:
You will have a greater practical and conceptual knowledge of sculptural processes and will have created your own sculptural work, learning appropriate technical skills and how to develop ideas creatively.
