Heat it. Beat it. Stick it together. Make stuff. Learn Heaps. Review, renew - be a creator. Push your boundaries in the Hot Arts Studios - cast bronze, fabricate metal, weld with gas or electricity, try plasma cutting and forging in this class.
Let's see what you can make from metal, wax, heat and a bunch of creative ideas.
Content:
* Processes and content will depend on your brief
* Basic welding, cutting and forming techniques will be covered if relevant to your project
* Health and safety requirements
* Work shop routines
* Creativity processes explored
Objectives:
* Develop an understanding of your ability to create 3D objects
* Develop techniques for working a variety of media
* Produce either a major piece of work or several smaller ones
* Increase your understanding of the work of other sculptors
* Recognise the potential of sculpture to give form to an idea
* Encourage discussion with others in the class about your work
Outcomes:
* One or more pieces of finished work - dependent on your brief, some projects may require more than one term to complete
* Safe and competent use of power tools
* Realisation that the creative process is understood through action, review and setting of new goals

Cost to student
Minimum charge of $20 for basic resources - welding, plasma cutting. Additional costs will depend on project - eg bronze - $31/kg of finished work
