Experimental Printmaking, Intaglio and Screen Printing Techniques

Description:
Dive in to Print!
We will begin with the seed of an idea and let it guide us through the process of creating a series of prints as a vital means of expression unlike any other.
Your path will be unique; you will learn about your creative process and your working style. Do you like to try many variations? Do you like to stick to just one method and hone your skills? All will be embraced.

Content:
* Introduction to monoprint
* Introduction to collagraph
* Introduction to drypoint intaglio
* Introduction to other methods as needed

Objectives:
* Learn how ideas translate into print
* Learn how to develop and evolve ideas in print
* Learn about your own creative process, how you like to develop and refine your ideas

Outcomes:
* Skills in various printmaking techniques
* The confidence to experiment and combine techniques
* A well considered, developed and completed print or body of prints

Required materials

supplies needed depend on individual projects chosen. for day 1:
visual diary
images for drypoint
drypoint tool
pvc plastic sheets
1 sheet of tablex paper
budget money for good quality paper for printing, it is worth it!

Cost to student:
Note - $15 materials fee covers many supplies but not nice paper
