Class times

All block classes run from 9.30am - 4.30pm.

Block 1 runs during Week 1 of term, Block 2 runs during Week 9 of term.

Registration for Block 2 must be received by 5pm Monday 9th August.

Class lists will be finalized on Friday 13th August, you will be notified.

Holding Up Seven Fingers

Description:
As an artist it is especially important to make lots of sketches. They are the shorthand for developing ideas. We will sketch the organic shape of a model and intertwine that with sketches made at the Begonia house, Wellington Botanic Gardens. These sketches will be developed further to become the basis of a painting. Suitable for all levels.

Content:
* Working with the model
* Working in nature and producing lots of sketches towards a series of paintings

Objectives:
Getting an understanding how to develop a series of paintings from one workshop. As an artist it is important when one shows ones works that the paintings relate to one another.

Outcomes:
A better understanding of how to make the journey from the blank paper towards a fine series of paintings.

Required materials

charcoal
indian or chinese ink
chinese brushes, paints or pastels
feathers or bamboo to make your own sketching implements from

Cost to student:
Dependent on what you will need to buy
